Designing a space for someone you love always brings extra meaning. So when my mom asked me to help bring her Airbnb vision to life, I jumped in with both feet. She had the name—Janelle’s Dockside Condo—and a gorgeous riverfront condo in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, just steps from Lake Michigan.
Whether you’re here for a beach weekend, a cozy retreat, or a relaxing reset, this two-bedroom getaway offers a clean, modern space that’s ready to welcome you.
Light, Airy, and Full of Character
We wanted the design to feel fresh and uncluttered but still full of personality. The condo already had amazing natural light, so we leaned into that by using a soft neutral palette, warm wood accents, and subtle textures.
In the living area, we added a wave-print wallpaper that brings movement and charm without stealing the show. It ties in beautifully with the river and lake just outside the window. In the primary bedroom, a playful fish-print wallpaper adds a fun, lighthearted touch while keeping the space calm and restful.
Bold Stripes, Big Style
From day one, my mom knew she wanted bold stripes in at least one bedroom. The guest room delivered, with oversized blue and white horizontal stripes that feel both classic and fresh. The pattern gives the room energy and anchors it with confidence—no safe beige here.
Each room has its own personality, but we made sure everything flows together. Soft tones, natural textures, and a touch of lake-inspired charm keep the whole space feeling cohesive.
Designed with Guests in Mind
When designing for Airbnb, I always try to think like a guest. What makes a stay feel effortless? What makes it memorable?
We filled Janelle’s Dockside Condo with thoughtful details—like a fully equipped kitchen, cozy throws, fast WiFi, and textured, light blocking shades for deep, uninterrupted sleep. We didn’t forget the little things either. You’ll find extra pillows, quality bedding, and an outdoor dining nook perfect for slow mornings or catching up on emails.

The best part? You’re right on the river and just a short walk to Lake Michigan. Wake up with a sunrise stroll, grab dinner downtown, or enjoy a sunset by the water—all without needing to hop in the car.
